Police Blotter: 'Sir, We Have an Angry Bull'

Cops get called to St. Michael's Abbey when Animal Control says 'No thanks.'

An informant at St. Michael’s Abbey called on Orange County Sheriff Deputies last week to report a bull with an ill temper.

According to details in the OCSD blotter, it appears that an original call was made to Orange County Animal Control to deal with a bull that had been acting aggressively at the Roman Catholic monastery. However, animal control indicated that it doesn’t deal with bulls—and that goes double for angry bulls.

Although St. Michael’s is in a remote location, the caller was concerned because there were children at the facility for summer camp.

Police apparently can’t go anywhere they want. Sheriff deputies responded to a call from Trabuco Creek Road at Trabuco Canyon regarding subjects holding a campfire on Trabuco Creek Road near the radio controlled airplane park. The informant was worried that the campfire might start a fire in the canyon. Deputies went to investigate, only to report that “we don’t have a vehicle that will make it up the trail.”
