Police Blotter: BJ’s Employee Seen Staggering Down Street With Facial Lacerations

Also, estranged husband breaks into wife's home to nab her cat, and a man kicks in another man's tail lights during an argument.

A caller was concerned about a man he saw staggering down a Rancho Santa Margarita street late Friday night, according to a call made to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. According to the informant, the man, who is an employee at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, had several lacerations on his face.

Deputies contacted BJ’s to see if any fights occurred at the restaurant that evening, but no one reported seeing any skirmishes. The Orange County Fire Authority arrived to give the man medical assistance.

The call came in around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, from El Paseo and Santa Margarita Parkway.

Estranged husband breaks into woman’s home, nabs cat

A woman said her estranged husband broke into her Rancho Santa Margarita apartment late Tuesday afternoon. He gained entry to the residence by removing a window screen, according to the woman, and made off with her cat.

An employee from her leasing office also contacted deputies about this incident, saying that the woman was extremely distraught and wondered how she would live without the cat.

The call came in around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, from Via Amistosa.

Man kicks in man’s tail lights during argument

A Rancho Santa Margarita caller said an intoxicated man kicked in the tail lights on the caller's black Mitsubishi early Tuesday morning. After damaging the lights, the man became aggressive with the informant.

The call came in around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, from Via Amistosa.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from December 20 to December 23.

Disturbance 7:44 p.m. Friday, on Rana. A caller said teens were dancing in the street while spitting on vehicles.

Family Dispute 6:16 p.m. Friday, 21800 block of Estrella Lane. A 23-year-old man said he was arguing with his mother, and would rather go to jail than spend the holidays with his family. The mother could be heard yelling at him in the background.

Disturbance 6:12 p.m. Friday, 100 block of Via Serena. A woman said she was fighting with her roommate.

Battery 11:53 p.m. Thursday, on Via Jolitas. A man said he was hit by his roommate several times. Deputies arrived and arrested a 27-year-old man, who was released after posting bond from the Central Mens Jail.

Warrant Arrest 9:01 p.m. Thursday, on Milkwood. Deputies arrested a 27-year-old man, who was released after posting bond from the Central Mens Jail.

Traffic Stop 7:54 p.m. Thursday, on Aventura and Avenida Empresa. Deputies arrested a 56-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.

Disturbance 6:43 p.m. Thursday, 30700 block of El Corazon. A woman said her roommate was attacking her.

Found Bicycle 12:34 p.m. Thursday, on San Carlos and Santa Elena. A man said someone had thrown a new bike into the bushes.

Welfare Check 9:23 a.m. Thursday, on Avenida de las Flores and Buena Suerte. A woman reported seeing three very young children playing unattended at a nearby park. When she asked the children where their mother was, they told her she was in an apartment located close to the park. Deputies determined that the children were clearly visible from the apartment.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, 29700 block of Melinda Road. A caller said a man was going through a dumpster at the Cortesia apartment complex, driving around the parking lot with boxes on top of his vehicle.

Disturbance 9:28 p.m. Wednesday, on Drover Court. A woman was fighting with her husband about an affair, and said she wanted him out, but he refused to leave.

Traffic Hazard 9:28 p.m. Wednesday, on Antonio Parkway and Meandering Trail. A caller reported someone throwing water balloons at passing vehicles; a balloon hit the caller's vehicle, causing him to swerve and nearly lose control.

Drunken Driving 7:49 p.m. Wednesday, on Antonio Parkway and Tijeras Creek. An informant said a white Ford Explorer was hitting the curb and driving in the bike lane.

Disturbance 6:39 p.m. Wednesday, on Antonio Parkway and Meandering Trail. A caller said youths were throwing snowballs at vehicles from someone’s backyard on Wayfaire.

Disturbance 5:53 p.m. Wednesday, 31800 block of Violeta Lane. A youth said that his parents were fighting. His father retreated to the garage while his mother, who was intoxicated, was trying to kick the garage door open. Deputies arrived and arrested a 51-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.

Traffic Accident 8:37 p.m. Wednesday, on the 241 Toll Road and Oso Parkway. A woman said her husband saw an SUV slam into a deer.

Disturbance—Music or Party 11:39 p.m. Tuesday, on Fontaire. A caller said there were over 50 vehicles parked on his street. All of the vehicles belonged to a nearby house party, where some revelers had spilled out onto the street.

Citizen Assist 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, on Stampede Street. A man said someone had turned off his circuit breakers repeatedly. He thought he was being targeted because of his Christmas decorations.

Petty Theft Report 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, 32100 block of Fall River Road. A woman said someone had stolen something from her unlocked vehicle.

Assist Outside Agency 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, on Victoria Lane. The Orange County Fire Authority needed assistance with a man who had apparently overdosed on narcotics. The man was breathing but sluggish.

Disturbance 10:18 a.m. Tuesday, on Via Amistosa. A woman said her soon-to-be-ex-husband broke into her apartment the previous night, after repeatedly calling her and harassing her.
