Police Blotter: Bounce House Rocks Neighborhood

Also, a large beehive concerns an informant, men are caught fishing, and an orange-clad man causes a stir.

The bounce house. A wonderfully named good time for kids of any age. But it was too much of a good thing for one Rancho Santa Margarita neighborhood.

A man was upset about an inflatable bounce house that had been blocking his Rancho Santa Margarita sidewalk for more than two weeks. He said he was calling on behalf of the dozens of citizens in his neighborhood who were affected by the scourge of this bounce house.

The call came in around noon on Sunday, from Calle Larspur.

Large beehive concerns informant

A caller saw a basketball-sized bee hive in the bushes near a gas meter adjacent to Wells Fargo Bank in Rancho Santa Margarita Sunday morning.

Deputies contacted public works to remove the hive.

The call came in around 9 a.m. on Sunday, from Antonio Parkway and La Promesa.

A case of catch and release

A man said three men were trying to fish in the lake Saturday afternoon. A ranger detained the subjects before releasing them.

The call came in around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, from the 21100 block of Los Alisos Boulevard.

A Dutch treat?

An informant was surprised by a man, clad in orange clothing, emerging from his bright orange Nissan Xterra Sunday afternoon. According to the caller, the man wearing the colors of the Netherlands placed a bag near the caller's Rancho Santa Margarita apartment building before driving away.

The call came in around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, from Via Amistosa.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from December 7 to December 10.

Disturbance 9:52 p.m. Monday, 29700 block of Melinda Road. An informant heard a man and a woman arguing, and a 3-year-old child yelling at the adults telling them to stop fighting.

Disturbance 9:45 p.m. Monday, on Santa Inez. A woman said she could hear a man screaming and chanting in a foreign language. Deputies confirmed that they could hear the chanting, but couldn’t tell where it was coming from.

Disturbance 12:09 a.m. Monday, 21000 block of Los Alisos Boulevard. An informant said six men were fighting outside of the leasing office of the Skyview apartment complex.

Disturbance 4:35 p.m. Sunday, on Rabano. An informant said a man, either intoxicated or high, was screaming at neighborhood children. The informant confronted the man and began arguing with him.

Medical Aid 1:21 p.m. Sunday, on Talega. A man said his brother had called him saying he wanted to shoot himself with his .22 rifle, because his wife was having an affair.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 12:48 p.m. Sunday, on Via de la Mesa. A caller said a a man was dealing drugs out of a vacant property.

Vandalism Report 12:10 p.m. Sunday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Avenida de los Fundadores. A man said a menorah had been knocked over.

Disturbance-Mechanical 6:10 a.m. Sunday, on Tijeras Creek and Antonio Parkway. A caller was annoyed by a loud lawnmower.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 12:28 a.m. Sunday, 22300 block of El Paseo. A caller said a man and a woman exited the Canyon Fireside Grill, and a woman hit the windshield of a parked Toyota Corolla.

Petty Theft 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 31500 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. A Rite Aid employee said a man had stolen beer from the store.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 6:42 p.m. Saturday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio Parkway. A caller said a few men were smoking marijuana behind a closed liquor store near Wings Bar and Grill.

Suspicious Vehicle 3:35 p.m. Saturday, on Brisa Fresca. An informant said someone in a white Econo van with an out-of-state license plate and an Obama sticker on the back was driving up and down his street.

Citizen Assist 10:21 p.m. Saturday, on Arado. A caller said a teen from Tesoro High sent him Facebook messages, asking him to score prescription drugs for him.

Disturbance 12:05 a.m. Saturday, on Aliento. An informant said he was in a physical fight with his girlfriend, who was breaking things in their apartment. Deputies arrested a 47-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Central Womens Jail.

Disturbance 1:59 p.m. Friday, on Via Cuidado. A woman said her credit card was missing, and she thought her grandson had stolen it.

Traffic Accident 7:23 a.m. Friday, on Antonio Parkway and Avenida de las Banderas. A BMW SUV collided with a pole.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 4:34 a.m. Friday, 22300 block of Antonio Parkway. A caller said an elderly man was walking around a shopping center and asking people for directions.
