Police Blotter: Intoxicated Male, Lion's Trail, Gas Fail
A good Samaritan helps an intoxicated man and his son, a mountain lion gets a little close for comfort, and the gas station mishap we all fear.
A heavily intoxicated man, who was in the bar area of Wood Ranch BBQ in Rancho Santa Margarita on Saturday night with his child, refused to call for a cab ride home, according to a call made to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The informant called back 10 minutes later, saying that a good samaritan was going to drive the man and his child to their Rancho Santa Margarita residence, but needed a ride back to the restaurant. Deputies followed the driver home and gave him a lift back to the restaurant.
The call came in around 8 p.m. on Saturday, from the 22300 block of El Paseo.

Mountain lion wanders near Las Flores Elementary
The Department of Fish and Game needed assistance from deputies in Las Flores early Monday morning, because a mountain lion had crossed Antonio Parkway and was heading toward Las Flores Elementary school.

The call came in around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, from Oso Parkway and Antonio Parkway.
Vehicle leaves gas station with hose still attached
A man saw someone drive away from the Arco station in Rancho Santa Margarita Monday morning with a gas hose still attached to the vehicle’s gas tank. Deputies determined that this was a civil matter.
The call came in around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, from the 29800 block of Santa Margarita Parkway.

Traffic Stop 7:45 p.m. Monday, on Antonio Parkway and La Ventana. Deputies arrested a 24-year-old man who is being held on $20,000 bail at the Intake Release Center.
Assist Outside Agency 7:45 p.m. Monday, on El Paseo and Santa Margarita Parkway. The Orange County Fire Authority needed assistance with a youth that was having a seizure at McDonald’s.
Burglary Report 1:04 p.m. Monday, 100 block of Via Contento. A woman said someone had broken into her car, as well as her son’s car, the previous evening.
Keep the Peace 11:41 a.m. Monday, on Terracaleta. A woman was having a property dispute with her ex-husband.
Stolen Vehicle 6:57 a.m. Monday, on Via Alivio. A woman said her silver 2000 Honda Civic had been stolen.
Patrol Check 2:13 p.m. Sunday, on Avenida de las Flores and El Camino Montana. A man said he saw a coyote near the entrance of the RSM lake.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 1:44 p.m. Sunday, 29400 block of Altisima. A caller said a woman was yelling, ranting and raving at people inside a church.
Vandalism Report 9:50 a.m. Sunday, on Esperanza and Avenida de las Banderas. A man said the windshield of his BMW convertible shattered while he was driving, and he thought someone may have thrown a rock at his car.
Disturbance 5:00 a.m. Sunday, on Aliento. A caller said people were fighting in the parking lot of his complex. Deputies arrested a 32-year-old man who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Disturbance 12:28 a.m. Sunday, 31900 block of Dove Canyon Road. A caller said 15 people were arguing outside of Friends Sports Bar.
Vandalism Report 6:38 p.m. Saturday, 29700 block of Melinda Road. A man said his vehicle's window had been smashed.
Drunk in Public 5:46 p.m. Saturday, 22300 block of El Paseo. A caller said there was a drunken man passed out in front of Tapas and Beer.
Disturbance 3:42 p.m. Saturday, 30900 block of La Promesa. A woman said a patron was arguing with the library manager in the RSM library office.
Petty Theft Report 2:24 p.m. Saturday, 30600 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. A man said his daughter’s purse had been stolen.
Vandalism Report 11:42 p.m. Friday, on Calle Gazapo. A man said his house and vehicles had been egged.
Disturbance—Music or Party 10:11 p.m. Friday, 25200 block of Vista del Verde. The food manager from the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club said there were a number of youths lingering on the grounds after a Sweet 16 party had been shut down. The youths were drinking and doing drugs in the parking lot, according to the manager.
Traffic Stop 8:25 p.m. Friday, on Radiance Lane. Deputies arrested a 20-year-old man who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was cited and released from the Musick Facility.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 8:16 p.m. Friday, on Via Amistosa. A caller said a security guard from the Villa La Paz apartments had detained two men who were found with methamphetamine and needles in the men’s restroom near the clubhouse. Deputies arrived and arrested a 33-year-old man who is being held without bail at the Musick Facility.
Traffic Stop 6:51 p.m. Friday, on Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway. Deputies arrested a 32-year-old man who is being held on $20,000 bail at the Central Mens Jail.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 2:53 p.m. Friday, on Plano Trabuco Road and Las Amigas Drive. A caller said an intoxicated man was laying in the bushes.
Traffic Stop 2:29 a.m. Friday, on Alicia Parkway and Santa Clara. Deputies arrested an 18-year-old woman, who was released on her own recognizance from the Intake Release Center.
Traffic Stop 12:28 a.m. Friday, on Plano Trabuco Road and Santa Margarita Parkway. Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man who was cited and released from the Intake Release Center.
