Police Blotter: Hatfields, McCoys and That Blasted Pickup

Seriously, isn’t this exactly what you’d like to do to that special neighbor who annoys you?

A man contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Dept., on Friday to report an abandoned vehicle.

The pickup truck, a Ford F-150, had been parked in front of the man’s residence for three weeks, he said.

He also informed deputies, according to the blotter, that he and the owner of the truck "hated each other."

Chances are their relationship won’t be improved any by this latest salvo.

The call was made at 2:43 p.m., on Los Pioneros.

Woman has seizure in car

Every mother's nightmare played out on Friday afternoon when a woman suffered a seizure while driving.

Passersby who saw the car and the woman in distress helped bring the vehicle to a stop. OCSD and Orange County Fire Authority responded to assist with the medical condition.

In the backseat was an infant.

The call came Friday, 1:56 p.m., from Antonio Parkway and La Ventana.

Hit and run may have been drunk driving

The victim of a felony hit and run incident on Aug. 23 called the Orange County Sheriff Dept., to report the incident.

The incident took place at the corner of Bienvenidos and Alma Aldea, and the caller—who indicated that he had neck pain—reported that the suspect  drove a black Honda Civic two-door to the Avila Apartments.

Orange County Fire Authority responded to the incident.

The suspect was tested for drunk driving.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita from Aug. 23-24 to the to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 11:59 p.m., Friday, from 100 block of Via Contento. A caller indicated that his wife said that two males followed her when she was walking the dogs. The subjects were now sitting in front of the residence.

Disturbance 10:58 p.m., Friday, on Via Espiritu. A woman called sheriff deputies to report that she heard yelling coming from a nearby residence, as well as barking dogs. Her husband went to the residence and knocked on the door but no one answered. No one answered when deputies knocked on the door either. The woman assumed something was wrong at the residence because she thought it was odd that the dogs would be barking all night. About 45 minutes later, the informant called to say she could see the lights on downstairs and the television and thought it was suspicious because the dogs were barking, which was indicative that the husband at the residence had done something suspicious. Deputies made contact with the female resident of the suspiciously loud house and she said she had just returned from a party and everything was OK and there was nothing suspicious going on.

Illegal Parked Vehicle 9:23 p.m., Friday, on Arcos. A caller reported a Ford van that had been parked in front of a fire hydrant for three hours. About 30 minutes later the informant called back to say the vehicle had been moved.

Disturbance 9:24 p.m., Friday, from Vaqueta. A caller reported that someone was banging on the door of the residence trying to get inside, but the informant could not see anyone.

Citizen Assist 8:31 p.m., Friday, on 22100 block of El Paseo. A woman reported a custody dispute and a possible assault and battery that occurred earlier in the day.

Accident-Non Injury 5:54 p.m., Friday, at 30600 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. According to an informant, two women were involved in an automobile accident and then engaged in a loud argument near Trader Joe’s. The women were separated; one went inside the store while the other remained outside.

Traffic Hazard 5:34 p.m., Friday, from El Paseo and Santa Margarita Parkway.  A man whose car stalled in traffic lanes on northbound El Paseo before Santa Margarita contacted sheriff deputies; he reported traffic is getting “a little dicey.”

Citizen Assist 4:42 p.m., Friday, on 23100 block of Arroyo Vista. A man at Wags and Wiggles called police because his ex-girlfriend—who has a restraining order against the man—was there having contact with him.

Assist Outside Agency 2:17 p.m., Friday, on 21600 block of Honeysuckle. Police assisted a 60-year old woman in the car of a driveway, possibly the victim of an overdose. The woman was breathing but unresponsive. 

Abandoned Vehicle 12:36 p.m., Friday, from Segada. An informant reported a white pickup that he believed to be abandoned because it has been parked in front of the residence for a week and he has not seen anyone around the vehicle.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle 1:57 a.m., Friday, from Teaberry Lane. A caller reported three males doing drugs in a black Mustang convertible parked near the caller’s home. The men may have come from a nearby party.

Disturbance 1:48 a.m., Friday, on Antonio Parkway. A caller reported 5-10 males were skateboarding in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy. The skateboarders had left by the time a police cruiser arrived.

Assist Outside Agency 6:57 p.m., Thursday, on 0 block of Salvia. Sheriff deputies assisted a person who was bitten by a dog and taken to the hospital.

Reckless Driving 1:39 p.m. Thursday, from Antonio and Empresa. A caller reported a driver in gray Hyundai swerving from one side of the road to the other, nearly hitting the center divider.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 9:54 a.m., Thursday, from Sonoma and Via Clemente. A woman called to say she was being followed by a Hispanic male with a tattoo on his arm and driving a black Ford pickup. The woman had her two small children with her and was afraid to walk home.
