Police Blotter: Is It Really A Prank When You're Providing A Free Snack?

Also, a woman says her neighbor killed her cat and wanted her to retrieve it from his lawn, and a burning trash can wakes up a Rancho Santa Margarita man.

Some people have better senses of humor than others, and apparently some pranksters in Coto de Caza haven't exactly figured it out yet.

A man carrying a flashlight was chased off a property by the owner early Thursday morning.

When the owner, who made the call to police, finally confronted the flashlight-toting stranger, he confessed that he and his friends were playing a prank on the neighborhood. The prank entailed putting freshly-cooked burritos on people’s doorsteps.
