Police Blotter: Cell Phone Rules Apply to These Guys Too

Also, an amorous couple gets nailed.

Speaking on a cell phone while driving is illegal. So one conscientious cyclist decided he wanted to be safe.

So he stopped.

In traffic.

A driver contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Department to report the man who was on a "low-rider bike," which was parked in the traffic lanes.

While talking on the phone the man had almost been hit by vehicles several times, according to the caller.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, from Avenida de Las Flores and Blackberry.

And in broad daylight, no less

An informant saw a man making out with a woman while laying on top of her in Central Park near the Castile housing tract. One of the amorous couple's parent showed up.

The call was made at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday on the 22100 block of El Paseo.
