Police Blotter: Rogue Handyman Drains Pool and Floods Neighbor

Also, drivers point lasers into people's homes, men use slingshots to shoot rocks at houses, and a teen moons drivers on Oso Parkway.

A real estate agent said a handyman was working on a pool without permission at a property in Trabuco Canyon around midnight Thursday. A neighbor had called the agent, saying the handyman had drained all of the water out of the pool, which flooded his house and backyard.

The call came in around midnight on Wednesday from Moccasin Trail.

Drivers point bright lasers into Coto de Caza homes

A caller saw men driving three vehicles—a Prius, a Jeep and a BMW—down her Coto de Caza street late Wednesday evening. The men, who looked to be in their early 30s, were pointing bright lasers into the windows of homes on her street.

The call came in around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday from Eastridge.

Men use slingshots to shoot rocks at Las Flores homes

A caller saw a group of men use slingshots to shoot rocks at homes on Oso Parkway in Las Flores Sunday evening. The men were on a trail behind the homes, walking toward Morning Trail.

The call came in around 8 p.m. on Sunday from Oso Parkway and Morning Trail.

Teen moons drivers on Oso Parkway

A caller said he received secondhand information about a teenage boy who was dropping his shorts and mooning drivers on Oso Parkway in Las Flores Friday afternoon. The caller’s friend said he was driving near the Las Flores bridge when he saw the boy get off of his skateboard, pull down his shorts and expose his bottom to traffic. The boy left the scene on his skateboard.

The call came in around noon on Friday, from Oso Parkway and Antonio Parkway

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from April 27 to May 1.

Welfare check 5:14 a.m. Sunday, 23500 block of Avenida La Caza. A woman said she thought her neighbor, a 50-year-old man, was high on some sort of drug, because she could see him staring at his walls, mumbling to himself and then yelling.

Citizen assist 8:04 a.m. Sunday, on Arabian. A woman said her house had been toilet-papered. The perpetrators had also spread syrup all over her residence and threw eggs at her car.

Disturbance—music or party 2:03 a.m. Saturday, on Oak Canyon Trail. A caller reported hearing a loud party on his street.

Suspicious person/circumstances 9:41 p.m. Saturday, on Moccasin Trail. A caller saw several youths ringing doorbells and throwing rocks at houses on his street.

Suspicious person/circumstances 5:02 p.m. Saturday, on Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway. A caller said a distraught woman was crying while squatting on the ground at the bus stop across the street from Las Flores Elementary. When deputies approached the woman, she said she had just broken up with her boyfriend and was discussing it with her friend on her cell phone while waiting for a bus.

Disturbance–auto involved 9:34 a.m. Thursday, on Drover Court and Apache Drive. A caller saw a Jeep Cherokee speeding around the neighborhood for 45 minutes. The driver was honking the car’s horn intermittently.

Suspicious person in vehicle 7:23 a.m. Thursday, on Mesquite. A caller saw three teenage boys smoking marijuana in a black Hyundai, which was parked in front of her house.

Suspicious person/circumstances 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, on Dark Horse. A woman said there was a physical fight in her residence, and some people were being held against their will.

Disturbance—music or party 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, 900 block of Sable. A caller said several people were in the community pool after it had closed. The people had also brought beer into the pool area.

Family dispute 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, 800 block of Sable. A teenage boy said his stepfather repeatedly grabbed him by the throat, causing bruises on his neck.
