Police Blotter: Shadow-Boxing Man Seeks Relief of Varying Types

Also, a Coto de Caza woman finds white powder in her mailbox.

Three calls came in to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department on Monday regarding a man in his fifties who put on a public display that was worthy of a heavyweight fighting championship.

The first caller saw the man on the corner of Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway, shadow-boxing while removing his shirt. Over an hour later, the second caller saw him urinating in a bush. He then walked down Antonio Parkway—with his pants down.

The third caller reported seeing him nearly two hours later, sleeping on a grassy area. The woman was concerned about the man’s health and hoped someone would assist him.

It is unknown whether he had, in fact, been knocked out by his shadow.

The first call came in around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the second call  around noon, and the third call at about 1:30 p.m. All of the calls originated from Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway.

Woman finds white powder in mailbox

A Coto de Caza woman was concerned about an unfamiliar, white powdery substance that she found in her mailbox late Thursday afternoon.

Deputies arrived and searched her mailbox, but couldn’t find any additional powder. They determined that the substance was not anthrax, but possibly a white “sprinkle” from a candied apple.

The call came in around 5 p.m. on Thursday, from Bordeaux.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from September 22 to September 26.

Hit and Run Parked Car Report 7:34 p.m. Monday, 32200 block of Weeping Willow Street. A woman said someone had hit her Mercedes in the parking lot. According to the woman, a witness left a note on her car with details about the suspect’s vehicle.

General Broadcast 5:16 p.m. Monday, 24300 block of Antonio Parkway. A driver was doing donuts in a parking lot near Canada Vista Park.

Traffic Stop 12:07 p.m. Monday, on Aliento and Via Ricardo. Deputies arrested a 21-year-old woman who is being held on $1,500 bail at the Musick Facility.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 9:47 a.m. Monday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and El Paseo. A caller smelled marijuana coming from an orange Honda that was parked in front of .

Citizen Assist 7:50 a.m. Monday, 21300 block of Avenida de las Flores. The principal of school wanted to speak to a deputy about a fight that happened at the school on Friday.

Traffic Stop 12:45 a.m. Monday, 30200 block of Esperanza. Deputies arrested a 43-year-old woman, who is being held on $32,500 bail at the Musick Facility.

Disturbance 9:36 p.m. Sunday, on Via de Colores and Buena Suerte. A caller said an intoxicated woman was yelling at a man inside a garage telling him to get back into his truck.

Warrant Arrest 9:22 p.m. Sunday, on Milagro and Taos. Deputies arrested a 41-year-old man who is being held without bail at the Central Mens Jail.

Assist Outside Agency 8:25 p.m. Sunday, on Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway. Animal Control needed deputies to see if a deer that had been hit earlier was still clinging to life. The man who hit the deer also called the desk, stating that a few other vehicles had also hit the animal, which was now laying on a dirt area next to the sidewalk on Antonio Parkway. When deputies arrived, the deer was not alive.

Petty Theft 7:17 p.m. Sunday, on Antonio Parkway and Oso Parkway. An employee from Mesa Deli said a man stole a bottle of Grey Goose from the store before running toward the apartment complex across the street. Deputies were unable to locate the man.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 6:22 p.m. Sunday, on Joliet Drive. A man found a suspicious-looking substance on the street near his house, and thought it might be drug-related.

Disturbance—Music or Party 5:28 p.m. Sunday, on Calle de Suenos. A caller said there was a loud band somewhere on his street.

Assist Outside Agency 2:18 p.m. Sunday, on Hemingway Court. The Orange County Fire Authority needed assistance with a black BMW that was on fire in the middle of the street.

Warrant Arrest 1:41 p.m. Sunday, on Santa Rosa and Coto de Caza Drive. Deputies arrested a 20-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.

Burglary Report 11:54 a.m. Sunday, 30800 block of Trabuco Canyon Road. A caller said someone had broken into his vehicle while he was camping.

Warrant Arrest 8:06 a.m. Sunday, on Antonio Parkway and La Promesa. Deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 4:36 a.m. Sunday, on Via Tortuga. A caller wanted deputies to look for a youth who was jumping into back yards and stealing things. The boy was carrying a bottle of juice, according to the caller.

Disturbance-Music or Party 9:48 p.m. Saturday, on Riverview Drive. A caller said there was a loud party raging in the area.

Citizen Assist 3:06 p.m. Saturday, 22100 block of El Paseo.  A woman was involved in a road rage incident with a man driving a black BMW.

Disturbance 11:03 a.m. Saturday, 800 block of Sable. A caller from the Archstone Apartments’ parking lot said that a man and a young girl were screaming at each other in a white PT Cruiser.

Disturbance 8:10 p.m. Friday, on Briercliff. A woman said the father of her child hit her and shot at her vehicle with a pellet gun. Deputies spoke to both of them, and ended up arresting the 24-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.

Traffic Accident 8:08 p.m. Friday, on Antonio Parkway and Avenida Empresa. Deputies arrested one of the drivers, a 30-year-old man, for having a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit. He was cited and released from the Intake Release Center.

Petty Theft Report 7:45 p.m. Friday, on Pamela Way. A man said someone had stolen his iPhone.

Vandalism Report 5:55 p.m. Friday, on South Bend Road and Bentley Road. A man found extensive graffiti in a tunnel near Bentley Park.

Disturbance 1:29 p.m. Friday, 23000 block of Antonio Parkway. A caller said two people were blocking the entrance to a business.
