Police Blotter: Vandals Egg Three Streets in Robinson Ranch

Also, a woman hears a gunshot coming from a nearby condominium.

Several people in a Robinson Ranch neighborhood reported that their cars had been egged during a three-hour period last week, according to calls made to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The first caller said he walked out of his residence the morning of Jan. 2 to find that his car had been egged, along with most of the other cars on his street. As there was no permanent damage to his vehicle, the man declined to file a report.

The second caller said a vehicle was egged about two hours later on a nearby street, and a third caller complained that his car was covered in egg yolk an hour later. Neither party wanted to file a report.

The first call came in around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, from the 21100 block of Briarwood Lane. The second call came in around 11:45 a.m. on Monday, from the 20800 block of Mayfair Drive. The third call came in around 1 p.m. on Monday, from the 21000 block of Pennington Lane.

A Rancho Santa Margarita woman said she heard a gun being fired from the condominium below her unit early Wednesday morning. After the shot was fired, the woman said she could hear her neighbor’s dog barking.

The call came in around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, from Santa Loretta.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from January 2 to January 5.

Petty Theft 9:18 p.m. Thursday, 30600 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. A security guard from Target had detained a cooperative woman for shoplifting. The woman was released with a citation.

Pedestrian Check 8:08 p.m. Thursday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio Parkway. Deputies arrested a 50-year-old man, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was released from the Intake Release Center.

Hit and Run Misdemeanor 6:55 p.m. Thursday, 30200 block of Tomas. A caller said a driver in a red Jeep hit his Toyota Solara and then drove off. The caller followed the Jeep to a storage center, where a suspect got out of the vehicle, denying that he had hit the informant.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 4:00 p.m. Thursday, on San Mateo and San Benito. A caller said a man, who claimed to be selling things, was wandering aimlessly throughout the neighborhood. The informant claimed that the man was wearing gold pants.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 2:43 p.m. Thursday, on Altisima and Las Plumas. A caller said four teens were walking up a hillside carrying alcohol.

Pedestrian Check 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio Parkway. Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was released after posting bond from the Central Mens Jail.

Assist Outside Agency 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, on Alumbre. The Orange County Fire Authority needed assistance with an elderly woman who was choking. When deputies arrived, the woman was conscious and breathing.

Lost Property 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, 22100 block of El Paseo. A man said someone had stolen his cellphone, and the suspects were now trying to extort money from him.

Citizen Assist 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, 21900 block of Alma Aldea. A woman from the principal’s office at RSM Intermediate said a student was detained in the office for possessing a pocket knife.

Petty Theft Report 10:16 p.m. Monday, on Anglesite. A woman said someone had stolen items she had left outside of her home for a donation.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 9:34 p.m. Monday, on Buena Suerte and Santa Margarita Parkway. A caller said four people were drinking in front of Chevron. Deputies arrived and arrested a 20-year-old man.

Vandalism in Progress 7:16 p.m. Monday, on Avenida de las Flores and Buena Suerte. A caller said a group of people were tagging the tennis courts at Monte Vista park.

Citizen Assist 4:36 p.m. Monday, on Via Amistosa. A man said another man was going through his laundry.

Disturbance 12:37 a.m. Monday, on Via Prado.A caller said neighborhood teens were play-wrestling and fighting.
