Police Blotter: Woman Fearful of Irate Tennis Instructor

Also, a man assaults another patron at Cook's Corner and an informant spots a naked man lying on a trail.

A frightened woman said her tennis instructor became irate with her during a training session in Rancho Santa Margarita Sunday morning, waving his tennis racket at her in a threatening manner. According to the woman, her teacher was instructing students without a permit.

The call came in around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, from Avenida de las Flores and Sarracenia.

Man assaults patron at Cook's Corner

A woman working at Cook's Corner in Trabuco Canyon Sunday night said a thin, tattooed man assaulted another patron of the bar. The victim declined to press charges against the suspect.

The call came in around 8 p.m. on Sunday, from the 19100 block of El Toro Road.

Naked man found lying on trail

An informant spotted a man lying on the ground on a Rancho Santa Margarita trail early Saturday afternoon. The man didn’t have any clothes on, according to the caller.

The call came in around 2 p.m. on Saturday, from Antonio Parkway and Tijeras Creek.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from March 9 to March 12.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 10:59 a.m. Monday, 31400 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. A Starbucks employee said a man was looking at pornographic material on his laptop, which was making other employees uncomfortable.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 5:34 a.m. Monday, on Antonio Parkway and Santa Margarita Parkway. A caller wanted deputies to look for a man, who was smoking out of a glass pipe while he waited for a bus outside of a gas station.

Traffic Stop 10:37 p.m. Sunday, on Empresa and Banderas. Deputies arrested a 24-year-old man, who is being held without bail at the Central Mens Jail.

Disturbance 4:57 p.m. Sunday, on Via Ulmaria. A woman caught her niece shooting heroin in her bathroom. The niece fled on foot with her heroin kit.

Traffic Hazard 12:09 p.m. Sunday, on Antonio Parkway and Santa Margarita Parkway. A caller said a group of geese that were crossing the street were causing a traffic hazard.

Assist Outside Agency 2:53 p.m. Sunday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Avenida de las Flores. The Orange County Fire Authority reported that a drunken driver was operating a Toyota Camry. Deputies arrived and arrested a 25-year-old woman, who was released from the Intake Release Center.

Petty Theft Report 12:00 a.m. Sunday, 22700 block of El Prado. A woman said her roommate stole money from her.

Keep the Peace 8:49 p.m. Saturday, on Meadowlark Lane and Robinson Ranch Road. A reporter for a news station said he was being harassed by residents while trying to tape a news segment in the area.

Traffic Stop 12:42 p.m. Saturday, on Alma Aldea and Santa Margarita Parkway. Deputies arrested a 20-year-old man, who is being held without bail at the Theo Lacy Facility.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 10:22 p.m. Friday, on Via Ladera and Pomelo. A caller said three youths were sitting on a bench at a park and she thought they were smoking marijuana.

Disturbance 7:18 p.m. Friday, on Lexington Way. A man said two drunken friends of his roommate came to his residence. After stepping outside for a moment, he noticed that they had locked him out.

Suspicious Person/Circumstances 3:58 p.m. Friday, 22300 block of Avenida Empresa. A man working at South County Bank said a man was walking around the branch, possibly casing out the place.

Assist Outside Agency 2:32 p.m. Friday, on Tesoro Creek Road. A man saw what appeared to be a mountain lion walking near Tesoro High School. The man became defensive when asked for additional information and hung up on the desk. Deputies notified the U.S. Department of Fish and Game about the sighting.

Citizen Assist 10:23 a.m. Friday, 21000 block of Los Alisos Boulevard. A woman thought she was part of a mystery shopper scam.

Petty Theft Report 9:23 a.m. Friday, on Geranium. A woman said someone had stolen a UPS package from her doorstep.

Traffic Stop 12:40 a.m. Friday, on Avenida de las Banderas and Arroyo Vista. Deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.
