Police Blotter: As Parties Go, This Was a Doozy

Also, a a teen takes on his stepdad, and there's something very strange on Santa Margarita Parkway.

Christmas parties are old news. New Year's Eve parties are so last year. But the party Saturday in a Rancho Santa Margarita was apparently a humdinger.

Three people called the Orange County Sheriff's Department to report issues with a rowdy gathering in their apartment complex. The first caller complained about a loud party in the complex, while the second caller heard several subjects fighting in the parking lot after the party apparently ended.

But it wasn't over.

Two hours later, the host of the party said an attendee, who was intoxicated or high on something, came back to the apartment and challenged everyone to a fight. The host asked him to leave, but the aspiring John Cena refused to vacate the premises.

The first call came in around 9:30 on Saturday, the second call came in around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, and the third call came in around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. All calls originated from Flora del Mar.

Teen stepson takes it out on stepdad

A woman called OCSD to report that her 17-year-old stepson was beating up her husband. Afterward, the teen then tried to take pills in an upstairs bedroom, according to the informant. Deputies transported the boy to Mission Hospital for an evaluation while his parents followed.

The call was made Monday, 1:22 p.m., from the 31800 block of Old Hickory Road.

You don't see that everyday

An informant called 9-1-1 to report that a boat was in the street and it needed water badly. The boat, in the middle of Santa Margarita Parkway, was on fire.

It was attached to a trailer at the time. The call was made Monday, 12:11 p.m., from Santa Margarita Parkway and Avenida de las Flores.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon and Las Flores to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from January 4 to January 7.
