Driver Checkpoint Tonight in Rancho Santa Margarita

Orange County Sheriff deputies will be looking for DUIs and other traffic threats in a drivers license checkpoint.

Drivers on Rancho Santa Margarita roads won't just have to be wary of slippery or wet conditions, but should also be cautious around police services activity.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a roving DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in RSM from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

The checkpoints are part of a grant the sheriff’s department received from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety, and are set up to target drivers who are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and/or driving a vehicle without a driver’s license. Funding for this grant was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
