RSM Cops Rescue Woman Lost in Heavy Brush

Sheriff deputies in Rancho Santa Margarita escorted her out after she was found by a helicopter in a nighttime search.

Orange County Sheriff deputies put on their hiking boots over the weekend to help a woman who got lost above Robinson Ranch.

A call to police on Saturday night, about 8:50 p.m., led to the rescue operation.

A woman, 52, was walking her pit bull when she got lost in heavy brush behind the water tower in the area.

A sheriff's department helicopter was dispatched and located the woman.

"Two Rancho Santa Margarita deputies hiked in and escorted the woman to safety," said Lt. Brian Schmutz, chief of police services for RSM.
