The high winds that enveloped Orange County are responsible for a tree that fell on cars in a Rancho Santa Margarita neighborhood on Wednesday.
There may not be much respite. Similar high winds are expected again on Thursday. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the foothills predicting gusts to 40 mph. The advisory is in effect until Thursday, 10 p.m.
Lining the parking lot in the 200-unit Serabrisa condominium neighborhood, the tree in Rancho Santa Margarita landed on three cars—a Honda, Ford and Toyota.
The Ford, primarily, and Toyota took the brunt of the force from the tree, which was about 30 feet tall.
Two of the vehicles in the unsassigned spaces belonged to one family; the third belonged to another.
The community, built in 1993, is managed by Action Property Management of Irvine.
No one was hurt, according to property manager Diane Pitchers.
