Woman Falls Off Motorcycle and Under Truck, Critical

The accident took place Tuesday in Trabuco Canyon.

The winding roads of Trabuco Canyon that are often favored by motorcyclists have taken another toll.

A woman was critically injured and a man sustained minor injuries in a motorcycle crash in Trabuco Canyon on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident on Rose Canyon Road at Trabuco Canyon Road happened about noon, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Marc Stone. It shut down traffic for about two hours as Station 18 of the OCFA responded and California Highway Patrol investigated.

The driver of the motorcycle lost control on an S-turn and the unidentified woman slipped off the bike and under a large truck, Stone said. She was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with life-threatening injuries, he said.

It wasn't clear who had been steering the motorcycle, Stone said.

Didn't see it happen, but pulled up JUST after. Only about 3 cars ahead of us. I could see (someone) under the large truck. We turned around and went back and it was still time before we saw the firetrucks. Station 45, Irvine too it seems (that was weird) and the another canyon rescue type crew. What made me mad was that RSM police where not at the top of the hill already stopping traffic coming going down into the canyon. My heart to her and large loving prayers to her and everyone involved.

I was out on a ride and came up to it. I got off my bike and talked with the driver of the truck who was shaken. It looks like her riding partner was fine but very shaken on the phone. his blue bike didn't look like it went down. the girls bike looked new like a ninja 250. It was such a big truck a tree trimming rig i hope she fell and slid without the truck running her over. I to send my thoughts and prayers for her and family. The section where she must have laid bike down is very tight and slippery from all the off road travel from holy gems.
