Baric Elected to GOP Position
City councilman from Rancho Santa Margarita now holds No. 2 spot in California Republican Party.
The spring convention of the California Republican Party was memorable for one Rancho Santa Margarita resident.
Steve Baric was elected the vice chairman during the convention's final day in Sacramento on March 20. Baric is a city councilman for RSM.
Baric replaced Tom Del Beccaro, who took over as chairman of the party. The Chair is limited to two terms of two years each, and puts Baric in line for the top spot.

Baric, 42, has a history with the CRP. He was its secretary for the past four years.
An expert on election law, he is president of the California Republican Lawyers. A former deputy district attorney, he was an Orange County gang prosecutor as part of the TARGET Gang Task Force.
