Four Trabuco Hills Students Are Among 10 OC Semifinalists Named

Trabuco Hills has twice as many candidates as any other OC school among those named on Tuesday for National Scholarship program.

Ten Orange County area high school seniors were named semifinalists on Tuesday in a national scholarship program for black students. Four of the 10 were from Trabuco Hills High.

The 10 are semifinalists in the 48th annual National Scholarship program that is part of the National Merit Scholarship Corp. The finalists compete for one of 700 scholarships worth $2,500.

The representatives from Trabuco Hills are Nicholas S. Ashley, Francis M. Mburu, Karli N. Thompson and Monica A. Ukah.

The other semifinalists named are: Don Macfoy (Cerritos), Gabriel Forthall (University), Sabina T. Spigner (Laguna Hills), Quiana Sanchez (Lakewood Mayfair), and Ndubuisi W. Anusiem and Biola E. Macaulay, both of Valencia High.
