Trabuco Hills Puts on the Pads

The Mustangs wore pads for the first time on Thursday and that means only one thing—football practice became a contact sport.

With its first game just a bit more than two weeks away, Trabuco Hills wore pads for the first time on Thursday during its preseason football practice.

That means only one thing after a summer of light workouts: Football became a contact sport again.

Under the guidance of Coach Scott Orloff, Trabuco Hills is part of the South Coast League, Orange County's second-toughest behind the Trinity League. The Mustangs, who began practicing on Monday, will compete against Mission Viejo, Tesoro, San Clemente and newcomer El Toro.

Trabuco Hills is expected to be led on the field by quarterback Nate Perry, running backs Jordan Hettinger and Chris Reck, and receiver Cole Breeland.

Trabuco Hills opens the season on Aug. 24 with a nonleague home game against Dana Hills.

The Mustangs finished 6-4 last season, 1-3 in league.
