Anderson Named High School All-American

The Santa Margarita lacrosse player will continue her career at Stanford. Six Orange County girls were named to the team.

Adrienne Anderson of Santa Margarita Catholic High led a group of six Orange County girls who were named High School All Americans by United States Lacrosse.

Anderson, of San Juan Capistrano, is a midfielder who has signed to play at Stanford.

Other county players who were selected were Alison Scharkey, a defender from Esperanza; Ashley Eickhoff, a midfielder from El Dorado; and three players from Los Alamitos, attackers Keaton Otake and Julie Crowell, and midfielder Haley Fessenden.

Crowell is a junior and Fessenden a sophomore; the others are seniors.

Santa Margarita (12-5) reached the U.S. Lacrosse Division 1 South semifinals before losing to Los Alamitos, 11-8, a  game in which Anderson scored five goals.

Los Alamitos went on to win the championship.
