Basketball: Santa Margarita 68, Saint Louis 59

Eagles win for the eighth time in nine games.

Santa Margarita Catholic, following its runner-up finish in its own Christmas Classic boys' basketball tournament, rolled in Hawaii for the second consecutive day.

The Eagles scored a 68-59 victory over Honolulu Saint Louis to advance to the semifinal game on Saturday.

Brett Oosdyke led Santa Margarita (9-2) with 20 points, about twice his average, and Joe Furstinger added 17. Sjur Berg scored 12.

The Eagles have won eight of their last nine—the only setback was to San Diego St. Augustine in the finals of the Santa Margarita Christmas Classic—and will play Honolulu Iolani in the semifinal game.

Correction: This article originally stated this was a semifinal game; it was a quarterfinal game.
