In his debut at Mission Viejo, transfer Alex Suchesk has a big night in the Diablo backfield.
If Alex Suchesk transferred to Mission Viejo from Santa Margarita Catholic because he wanted to be a bigger part of an offense, the season's first game gave every impression that he got what he wanted.
Suchesk, a junior speedster who was destined to share the backfield with Ryan Wolpin before trading in his blue uniform for Mission's red and black, rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns Friday as Mission Viejo scored a 35-0 nonleague victory over Bakersfield Centennial.
Quarterback Ian Fieber had a noteworthy role in the victory as well. He passed for 158 yards and a touchdown, and Daniel Marx rushed for two touchdowns.

Mission Viejo will be home next week when it plays host to San Marcos Mission Hills of the San Diego Section. It will be the season opener for Mission Hills, which was 7-4-1 last season.
