Football: OC Top 10 and Patch's Vote After Week 0

Schools from neighboring communities are 1-2. Where does Servite land after its loss?

Martin Henderson of Patch.com votes in the weekly Orange County Top 10 Football Poll in cooperation with the Orange County Register.

Below is Henderson's vote following the first weekend of prep football, and below that is this week's OC Top 10 based on the votes of 10 media members; each first-place vote among the 10 voters is worth 10 points, each second-place vote is worth 9 points, etc.

The Orange County Top 10

A poll of Orange County media members (comments by Steve Fryer):

1. Santa Margarita (1-0, 100 points)

Eagles got No. 1 vote from all 10 panelists after 27-14 road victory over Brophy Prep of Phoenix.

2. Mission Viejo (1-0, 88)

Once QB Fieber got going, so did Diablos in 35-0 road triumph over Centennial of Bakersfield.

3. Mater Dei (0-0, 77)

Monarchs, expected to be improved, open 2012 season at St. Paul on Friday.

4. Tesoro (1-0, 75)

QB Adam was 8 for 8 for 188 yards and three TDs in easy 55-14 victory over Compton.

5. Servite (0-1, 48)

Friars outplayed in every way in 40-23 road loss to Bishop Amat of La Puente.

6. Edison (0-0, 46)

Chargers start their 2012 season Thursday at Garfield of Los Angeles.

7. El Toro (1-0, 44)

Six players had at least four receptions for Chargers in 47-24 victory over Huntington Beach.

8. San Clemente (1-0, 29)

Tritons cruised in 56-0 drubbing of West Adams Prep of Los Angeles.

9. Orange Lutheran (1-0, 24)

New coach Chuck Petersen's first Lancers game is a winning one, a 30-22 road triumph against Long Beach Wilson

10. Tustin (Empire) 1-0, 11

Tillers rushed for 449 yards in a 48-13 victory over Roosevelt of Eastvale.

Also receiving votes: Los Alamitos (Sunset) 0-0, 6; La Habra (Freeway) 1-0, 2

I'm still waiting for the teachers to produce a receipt for purchases made with MY money.Read More Asking/requiring donations of $20-25.00 a head in a 32 kid classroom is a nice $800.00 potential windfall of which I see nothing of where that $$ is spent.
