No. 1 St. Bonaventure 39, Long Beach Cabrillo 7 — The Seraphs' victory sets up a rematch with the only team to beat them, Santa Margarita.
— Sophomore quarterback Kyle Sweet and Ryan Wolpin each accounted for more than 200 yards, and the defense shut down El Toro's record-setting QB Conner Manning, the all-time single-season passing leader.
Mission Hills Alemany 42, Moorpark 14 — Alemany (9-2) has scored 42 points or more in four of its last five games.
No. 4 Mater Dei 71, Lakewood 10 — The previous season-high for the Monarchs (9-2) was 48 points.
— The Titans (7-4) lost for the fourth time in five games. Nate Tago rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 28, Westlake Village Oaks Christian 27 — This was considered the only upset of the night in this division as Oaks Christian lost its second in a row in its Pac-5 debut.
Long Beach Poly 40, La Puente Bishop Amat 25 — Gerald Wicks rushed for 223 yards to lead the Jackrabbits (8-3).
— Hunter Remington returned two inteceptions for a touchdown and Max Redfield returned one for a score as the Diablos (11-0) set up a game next week against Long Beach Poly.
SOUTHWEST (Division VI)
No. 1 Edison 27, Esperanza 3

La Habra 10, Los Alamitos 7 — A 25-yard field goal by Jackson Willard—his first of the season—with 3:18 remaining prevented Los Alamitos from winning its first playoff game since 2004. Kendall Brownlow's 21-yard run near the end of the first quarter accounted for Los Al's only scoring. It was the first victory by La Habra over Los Al, who have played seven times since 2002; they used to play nonleague games against each other.
No. 4 Foothill 17, Laguna Hills 7 — Will King scord on a 4-yard pass from Kevin Cunningham early in the second quarter but it was the only points for Laguna Hills (6-4).
No. 3 Villa Park 21, Yorba Linda 12
Newport Harbor 42, Troy 21 — Troy (7-4) scored the first two touchdowns of the game, but Newport Harbor (7-4) scored six unanswered touchdowns to advance to a second-round game against Villa Park. Tala Teaupa rushed for 272 yards and scores of 13 and 14 yards to give the Sailors a 28-14 lead. Riley Gaddis scored twice, and Marty Taylor and Chance Siemonsma scored once each, the latter on a 20-yard carry.
Huntington Beach 34, Capistrano Valley 17 — Bowen Breunig rushed for 202 yards, including scores of 33, 51 and 68 yards to lead the visiting Oilers (6-5). Matt Gordon, who entered in place of injured starter Mason Dossey, guided Capo Valley (8-3) to two fourth quarter touchdowns, a 3-yarder to Cole Robinson and a 54-yarder to Adam Gordon; the Cougars had trailed, 31-3.

SOUTHERN (Division IX)
No. 1 Corona del Mar 35, Anaheim 0 — The Sea Kings (9-2) began defense of their section championship by ganging up on Anaheim (5-6) early in the second quarter. Kai Wilson scored on a 5-yard run at the 11:30 mark; less than a minute later, Cole Martin scored from 1 yard; and Martin scored on 43-yard pass from Cayman Carter at 10:21. Elapsed time: 69 seconds, 21 points. Carter added a second touchown pass before the half ended. CdM faces Los Amigos in the second round.
Los Amigos 41, Estancia 14 — The Lobos (8-3) won their fourth in a row by scoring the first 35 points. Jerry Saldivar rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns, and Anthony Magana passed for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

— Nathan Lancaster scored on a 43-yard run and a 37-yard punt return to lead the Breakers (10-0-1), who also got a 74-yard punt return by Robert Clemons early in the first quarter. Laguna Beach has 12 punt or kick returns for touchdowns this season. Drake Martinez rushed for 154 yards, including a 20-yard score. The Breakers led 42-0 at halftime.

No. 4 Salesian 74, Capistrano Valley Christian 7 — CVC (8-3) was down by 60 points when it finally broke into the scoring column with an 80-yard pass from Riley Babick to Ben Sukut with 3:25 left in the third quarter.Babick passed for 225 yards, but Salesian (10-1) returned two interceptions for touchdowns.

Edwards AFB Desert 28, Saddleback Valley Christian 21 — The Warriors (6-5) held a 14-0 lead early and a 21-12 lead in the fourth quarter before collapsing at home. Forrest Lohman scored twice for SVC, on runs of 3 and 10 yards—the latter with 10:49 left in the game. Caleb Ward gave SVC a 14-0 lead on a 35-yard reception from Brandon Towles. Desert got a 57-yard scoring pass from Brandon Valdez to Myquan Turner with 7:41 remaining to pull to 21-20, and then a 12-yard run by Valdez with 4:27 to go. Valdez ran in the two-point conversion for the final score.
