Football: Trabuco Hills 27, Huntington Beach 17

The Mustangs defense is impressive as Trabuco starts the season with four victories for the first time since 1992.

For the first time since Jim Barnett was the coach—that's two decades ago—Trabuco Hills opened the season with four consecutive victories. The Mustangs scored their second consecutive victory over a Sunset League team, getting a good win over a dangerous Huntington Beach squad.

Key Stats: Tommy Kelley completed 14 of 27 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns.

Pivotal Moment: Tied at 7-7, Huntington Beach had driven to the Trabuco Hills 14, but a series of penalties pushed the Oilers back to their own 27-yard line—facing fourth-and-57. The Oilers punted away and Trabuco scored on a 34-yard pass from Jimmy Jacobs to Conner O’Malley.
