Video: Athletes Sign College Intention—From Sea to Shining Sea

Kyle Murphy, the plum that everyone was watching Wednesday, one of the nation's most highly rated—and recruited—athletes decided to attend Stanford.

Murphy, a massive offensive lineman for San Clemente, finally made the big reveal this afternoon when he pulled out a Stanford baseball hat that was tucked inside a t-shirt and placed it on his head.

Murphy's decision came down to Stanford and USC, but chose the Cardinal because of the connection he made with the coaching staff, particularly the offensive line coaches, and the the incoming class.

Murphy, who is 6 feet 7 inches and 275 pounds, is just one of many local high school athletes who will sign their national letters of intent, a binding commitment to the college of their choice.

Today is the first day for athletes in football, boys' and girls' soccer, boys' and girls' track and field, boys' and girls' cross country, boys' water polo and field hockey to make official the biggest decision of their young lives.
