The Santa Margarita Eagles boys track and field team ventured north to Mater Dei High School Friday for the 2011 Trinity League prelims in hopes of advancing as many people as possible to league finals, which will also take place at Mater Dei this Friday, beginning at 2 p.m.

By the end of the preliminaries, the Eagles advanced 18 individuals to the finals, setting 10 personal bests along the way, and crowned their first league champion of the year.
