SMCHS Names Co-Coaches for Girls' Lacrosse

Eagles go old and new in naming Lara Reppert and Emily Luckette to direct the team.

Article submitted by Sean Zeitler

Santa Margarita Catholic High School is pleased to announce Lara Reppert and Emily Luckette as the girls’ lacrosse co-head coaches effective immediately.

Reppert has been with the SMCHS Lacrosse Program for the past 3 years as the JV head coach. Last year, Reppert was a tremendous asset to the program and is very well respected by all the girls in the program.  The team is excited to have her be a part of the lacrosse program and she will be a great addition to the varsity program this year.

Luckette was recently hired at SMCHS and has begun working with the team. She recently relocated to Orange County and is originally from upstate New York. Luckette graduated from Clarkson University with bachelors in Digital Arts and Sciences and a minor in Mathematics. Her lacrosse career started at a young age and she earned many achievements and distinctions along the way, including Academic All-American, All-league, and is a member of the Central New York Elite Lacrosse Club. When asked what it meant to join the SMC family, Luckette was humbled and excited.

“It is an honor to join the staff at Santa Margarita. This is an awesome opportunity with high expectations and responsibilities.”

Luckette, a strong academic advocate, hopes to coach more than just on the field improvements in her athletes.

“I hope to instill an understanding of what it means to represent Santa Margarita on the field, in the classroom, and as citizens of society in general. I believe that a positive experience in extra-curricular activities contributes significantly to a student's personal development.”

Beyond her lacrosse success, Luckette was also a member of the varsity tennis and varsity indoor track teams.
