4th of July Fireworks Displays

In Rancho Santa Margarita, you want to see "bombs bursting in air." Here's where you can take a look.

Residents of Rancho Santa Margarita who are looking to find a way to spend the Fourth of July don't have to look much farther than the local lake.

Once again, SAMLARC residents and their guests can view Independence Day fireworks from the Beach Club Lagoon, and all residents are free to watch from the area surrounding Lago Santa Margarita.

The association's Star Spangled Spectacular begins in earnest at 2 p.m at the Beach Club with music, games and the availability of local food vendors. The Beach Club opens at 6 a.m.

At 3 p.m., entrance tickets expire, and the club will open to those without tickets for as long as space is available.

At 7:30 p.m., lagoon swimming will close.

Along the lakeshore, amphitheater entertainment begins at 5 p.m., provided by The Bridge church, and there will be air cannon launches firing goodies from the SAMLARC boat.

The is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

Aliso Viejo: Grand Park, dusk.

Dana Point: Laguna Niguel Regional Park, 9 p.m.

Ladera Ranch: Founder's Park, 9 p.m.

Laguna Beach: City show at Monument Point, 9 p.m.; private show from a barge at Three Arch Bay; private show at Irvine Cove.

Lake Forest: Private show at Sun and Sail Club, 9 p.m.

Los Alamitos: Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, 9 p.m.

Mission Viejo: Street Faire (noon) and fireworks (9 p.m.) on Olympiad between Marguerite and Melinda.

Newport Beach: Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 9 p.m. ($10 per walk-in, $50 per car with up to six passengers).

San Clemente: San Clemente Pier, 9 p.m.

San Juan Capistrano: San Juan Capistrano Sports Park, 9 p.m.
