Need a Free Pass? RanchoFest Needs Volunteers

Rancho Santa Margarita's RanchoFest, a celebration of food and music—and plenty of bounce houses for the kids—takes place this weekend.

Last year, about 6,000 people attended the event—most on the Saturday second day of the two-day event. With this year's event on Saturday and Sunday, there wil be two full days of activities and the weather should be much better than last year's miserably cold Friday.

Sponsored by the RSM Chamber of Commerce, president Suzanne Singh said her team is still looking for more volunteers to assist with the operation. She expects 10,000 to 12,000 over the weekend descending on Central Park.

Many businesses are also participating.

"There's something for everybody," said Mayor Tony Beall.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children, but doesn't include the cost of food; however, the entry covers the cost for the entire weekend.

The event is Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Volunteers who work for a couple of hours will get into the event for free. They can do so by signing up here, or sending an email to AvalonDive@aol.com.
