Las Flores Middle School

<p>Las Flores School is divided into two campuses on the same site --the middle school and the elementary school. The school is located on Antonio Parkway between Oso Parkway and Sable.</p> <p>The middle school -- home of the Bears -- is part of the Capistrano Valley Unified  School District and is dedicated to promoting high achievement and well-being. It has previously been named a California Distinguished School. </p> <p>The school, which has 57 classrooms, has a strong Performance Art program, and its physical fitness options include classes in aerobics and yoga, in addition to a fitness center. The school has participated in Students Run Los Angeles and had 14 students complete the Los Angeles Marathon. </p> <p>Intervention programs have been established to help at-risk students, including before-school reading and math classes, sixth grade study skills classes, social science literacy classes, a mentoring program, a school counselor and a homework club.</p> <p>Its students regularly participate in the Spelling Bee, Academic Pentathlon and Destination Imagination.</p>
