Second Stabbing Victim Dies

Hossain Saidian had been in critical condition since Saturday, after a deadly dispute that reportedly began when someone cut in line at a Lake Forest restaurant. Funeral set for first victim, Elvis Kechechian.

Now, two men are dead. Hossain Saidian died Thursday, making him the second casualty in a . He was 32.

According to sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino, Saidian died Thursday afternoon.

Saidian died from stab wounds to his arm and chest, allegedly at the hand of Justin Alvin Maseo Tombleson, who turned himself in to authorities Monday afternoon for his role in the death of Elvis Kechechian, Saidian's friend.

Kechechian, a Mission Viejo personal trainer and the strength and conditioning coach for the Santa Margarita Catholic High ice hockey club, died shortly after he was stabbed. He was 26.

The men had gone out that evening to celebrate Saidian's birthday with bowling and then clubbing at an Anaheim venue called Heat Ultra Lounge. On the way home, the party of four stopped at Albatros, a Mexican restaurant that is one of the few 24-hour establishments in Lake Forest.

According to some witnesses, ; as tensions escalated between the woman and her two female friends and the four men, one of the women allegedly struck Kechechian's older brother, Aris, who spit on her in retaliation. Other patrons joined the fracas, and the birthday celebrants were asked to leave by restaurant staff. Outside, they encountered Tombleson.

Tombleson, who turned himself in Monday, to one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. His attorney, George Vincent Vargas, .

"At first glance, if I didn't know more, I'd be the same way—'hang 'em,' " Vargas said. "Upon a closer review, I think a different story is going to come out."

Investigators will try and have the attempted murder charge that pertained to Saidian upgraded to murder, authorities say.

Services for Kechechian have been scheduled for Saturday at the Refinery at Saddleback Church. A viewing is scheduled for 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m.
