Music Video of SMCHS Graduation

Santa Margarita Catholic High's commencement ceremony Friday morning brought a packed house to the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine.

Elsewhere on Patch, you can watch the Tassel Ceremony that took place at the end of the program. But there was a lot more than that. At least a hundred pictures' worth.

They've been assembled here, put to music and posted on the internet for posterity.

Those in attendance watched as Notre Dame-bound Kayla Matthews—with a 4.92 grade-point average—delivered the valedictory speech, and four salutatorians with 4.88 GPAs—Nicole Minkina (Yale), Madison Jaros (Notre Dame), Katie Pisarek (Notre Same) and Charles Min (Princeton)—traded quips about the differences between them as freshmen and them as seniors. You can see all of them in the video.

You can also check out Johnny Stanton checking out his Caritas Award, given to the student who most embodies the school motto, Caritas Cristi, which means the love of Christ. Principal Ray Dunn said it's the school's highest honor—no offense to the valedictorian—and is chosen by members of the faculty and staff.

For scenes from the graduation ceremony, watch the video.
